Buffalo Sabres defenseman Mattias Samuelsson had to exit Friday's matchup against Philadelphia early due to a lower-body injury. He logged only four shifts and finished with 2:28 of ice time. There hasn't been an update on his status, but with Buffalo back in action Saturday against Toronto, it's likely Samuelsson will be forced to sit out at least one game. The 23-year-old has enjoyed a good start to the campaign, notching three points (one goal, two assists) in 11 games with 25 hits, 25 blocks, and a plus-four rating. He plays major minutes as Rasmus Dahlin's partner on the first defensive unit, and there's going to be a lot of extra shifts available for others if Samuelsson has to spend time on the sidelines.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
