Kansas City Royals manager Matt Quatraro was away from the team for the series opener on Monday against the division-rival Cleveland Guardians to tend to a personal family matter. The Royals expect him to be back on Wednesday for the series finale against the Guardians. Bench coach Paul Hoover will serve as the acting manager for one more game on Tuesday, while third base coach Vance Wilson will stay in the dugout to help with bench-coach duties. Infield coach Jose Alguacil will fill in at third base for Wilson when the Royals are hitting. Kansas City dropped the opener to Cleveland 4-2 on Monday at Kaufmann Stadium and are now in third place and 4.5 games behind the Guardians in the American League Central after losing their last six games. They currently hold the final wild-card spot in the AL and are 4.5 games up on the Boston Red Sox.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
