Winnipeg Jets right wing Mason Appleton (upper body) won't play Tuesday against the Kings. He was already a major doubt for the contest due to an upper-body injury and the 27-year-old has now been ruled out. Appleton, who's been a regular in the top six, has been bothered by injuries all season long and has skated in only 22 games. He's managed to post two goals and seven assists. Appleton's injury will give Nino Niederreiter a chance to make his team debut in a top-six role. He was picked up from Nashville over the weekend and joined the Jets in practice Monday, skating on the second line. Niederreiter also worked with the first power-play unit, so he's definitely a guy fantasy managers should monitor.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
