Winnipeg Jets right wing Mason Appleton (wrist) has undergone surgery and will need 8-12 weeks to recover. He injured his wrist in Sunday's 3-2 win over Seattle. Appleton hasn't done a lot this season, going for one goal and five assists, but he's been a first-liner on a team that has already been without Nikolaj Ehlers (lower body). Sam Gagner is set to take over from Appleton on the line. The veteran forward boasts three goals and two assists for the season, having mostly played fourth-line minutes. He's been a proven scorer in the league and should fit in well on the line. --Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
