New York Mets third baseman Mark Vientos (abdomen) has been scratched from the starting lineup for precautionary reasons due to abdominal soreness in Friday's series opener against the visiting Los Angeles Dodgers at Citi Field. Brett Baty will start at third base and at eighth, while Luisangel Acuna will play second base and bat ninth against Dodgers left-hander Clayton Kershaw. It sounds like there's a good chance Vientos will return to action for Game 2 of the series on Saturday, although fantasy managers will want to check back tomorrow. Vientos has disappointed through the first third of the season after a breakout 2024 campaign, but he remains New York's starting third baseman. Even though Kershaw allowed five runs in his 2025 debut, Baty and Acuna will be unappealing DFS options in the lefty-lefty matchup at the bottom of the order.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
