Mark Ingram II Could Be The Odd Man Out
3 years agoHouston Texans veteran running back Mark Ingram II, who signed a one-year deal in March, could be the odd man out in the Texans running back room this summer. It seems unlikely that there's room for Ingram, David Johnson, Phillip Lindsay and Rex Burkhead on the final 53-man roster. Houston restructured Johnson's contract and doubled his guaranteed money, so he'll likely be on the team. Ingram, 31, played in only 11 games (nine starts) due to injury in Baltimore last year, carrying the ball only 72 times for 299 yards (4.2 yards per carry) and two touchdowns. No matter who ends up in this backfield, it could be a weekly headache, especially if quarterback Deshaun Watson is traded or suspended.
