Marcus Pettersson Remains Out On Saturday
2 years agoPittsburgh Penguins defenseman Marcus Pettersson (illness) didn't travel with the team and will miss a second consecutive game Saturday against Carolina. He has been struck down by an illness and it will take a bit of time until Pettersson is game-ready again. His next chance to return comes on Monday versus Anaheim. The Swedish blue-liner has had a solid campaign with 11 points, 52 shots, 78 hits and 84 blocks in 40 outings. He has skated on the first defensive pairing, averaging nearly 21 minutes of ice time per game. The Penguins blue line has been badly hit by injuries lately and it's resulted in Ty Smith getting a huge role and skating on the first power-play unit. Brian Dumoulin has also just logged a season-high 23:04 of ice time in Friday's 4-1 loss to Winnipeg.
