Luis Castillo To Start Game 2 Against Houston
2 years agoSeattle Mariners right-hander Luis Castillo will start Game 2 of the American League Division Series on Thursday on the road against the Houston Astros. Castillo was excellent in Game 1 of the Wild-Card Series against the Toronto Blue Jays last Friday, throwing 7 1/3 shutout innings while allowing six hits, walking none and striking out five to pick up the victory. After being acquired from the Cincinnati Reds at the trade deadline in August, the 29-year-old Dominican went 4-2 for Seattle with a 3.17 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 77 strikeouts in 65 1/3 innings over 11 starts. The two-time All-Star didn't face the Astros at all in 2022. In his last three starts in the regular season, Castillo allowed 10 earned runs on 15 hits while walking six and striking out 17 in 16 innings.
