Ralphy Velazquez Ticketed for Double-A Akron
Ralphy Velazquez has been promoted to Double-A Akron following a solid offensive display at High-A Lake County. The Guardians' 10th-ranked prospect hit just .245, but his 17 home runs led the entire Midwest League, while his 63 RBI were in the top three. Even with the big power stroke, the left-handed slugger struck out at a less-than-average rate of 20.3 percent while drawing walks at a slightly above-average rate of 9.6 percent. At 6-foot-3 and only 20 years old, he could grow into even more power and could be knocking on the door to the majors late next year. With his power potential, he's a name to keep an eye on in dynasty formats.
