Washington Capitals center Lars Eller (illness) has been placed on Injured Reserve. He was unavailable for Friday's matchup against Carolina due to an illness, and Eller will be forced to miss at least two more games. The Danish veteran has done a good job for Washington as the third-line center since arriving in a trade from the Pittsburgh Penguins. He's notched six points (two goals, four assists) in 16 appearances while winning 53 percent of his faceoffs. Hendrix Lapierre took over his duties on Friday, while Washington has summoned Henrik Rybinski from the AHL to provide forward depth.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
