New York Islanders right wing Kyle Palmieri (upper body) didn't travel with the team to Columbus and will miss Friday's game against the Blue Jackets. He's sitting out for a second consecutive game after getting hurt at the start of the week in a matchup versus Toronto. Palmieri is among the team's top goal-scorers this season with six goals, and he has posted nine points in total across 20 outings. Considering he had only 33 points last season, Palmieri has done pretty well so far, although he had hit a bit of a wall before getting injured, logging just one point in six games. The veteran winger has been replaced in the lineup by Simon Holmstrom, who made his NHL debut Wednesday versus Edmonton. He's a former first-round pick of the club, but the 21-year-old hasn't been very prolific in the AHL and didn't do a lot among the big boys either Wednesday.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
