Los Angeles Angels starting pitcher Kyle Hendricks earned his fifth win of the season in a 4-0 victory over the Yankees on Tuesday. He pitched six scoreless innings, allowing four hits and one walk while striking out nine. This was the most punchouts he's gotten in a start this season by far, with his previous high being six on May 31. No one was expecting this type of outing against one of the best offenses in baseball, especially for Hendricks, who had allowed at least three earned runs in nine of his last 11 outings. It's unlikely that this will be the start of a breakout for the 35-year-old, who will hope to hang on to some of this magic in his next start against the Astros.--Jeremy Heist
