Kyle Gibson Gives Up Another Padres Grand Slam
Kyle Gibson allowed five earned runs in five innings on Thursday night, but four of them came on an Eric Hosmer grand slam. Gibson is having a severe WHIP problem this season. He allowed nine Padres to reach base, three via walks, and that has him sitting at a 4.73 ERA and 1.54 WHIP through 26 2/3 innings this season. He started Thursday's contest on the right foot with two strikeouts, but then two walks kept the inning alive to score the first run. Gibson only had one clean inning during his five innings of work, and that has been the biggest downfall for his season. The 32-year-old is lined up for a start against Oakland next week and shouldn't be in consideration for any daily fantasy lineups.
