Kyle Freeland Bounces Back
6 years agoColorado Rockies starting pitcher Kyle Freeland had a couple rough outings in a row, but that looked to be behind him as he owned the Phillies on Thursday. Freeland tossed six innings of two-hit ball while walking none and striking out seven en route to the win. Having allowed 10 earned runs in his last 10 innings, this was just the type of start Freeland needed to get back to normal. Freeland only threw 86 pitches in the outing, so he likely could have gone another inning or two, but it looks like manager Bud Black is wanting to try to conserve his staff a little bit this early in the season. He'll get a turn against the Nationals next week as Colorado welcomes another NL East foe to Denver.
