5 years agoWashington Nationals catcher Kurt Suzuki (elbow) has not been cleared to throw or hit yet, according to manager Dave Martinez. Suzuki has not been able to play since Saturday due to inflammation his in elbow. Yan Gomes will remain the starting catcher until Suzuki is cleared to return. Gomes will bat ninth and do the catching against righty Kyle Gibson on Thursday. Gomes doesn't have much upside with the bat.--Andy Webb - RotoBaller
