Kolten Wong Doesn't Need Surgery
Kolten Wong (knee) will not need surgery after his left knee was examined after the season. A scan of the joint showed that the cartilage that shook loose earlier this year would not need to be fixed. In his five full years with the Red Birds, Wong has started more than 120 games just once, in 2015 when he hit .262/.321/.386 and started 140 games. Wong is a much better defender than hitter, and he'll mainly be an NL-only option for infield depth for fantasy owners next year.
