Khalil Shakir 2025 Fantasy Football Outlook: To Remain Bills Primary Slot Receiver, Likely WR3 In Fantasy
Khalil Shakir has cemented himself as the Bills primary slot wide receiver, and that's unlikely to change moving forward. He doesn't take a lot of snaps in 12 personnel, though, which limits his upside. Such is life for WRs under 200 pounds. Still, he has vacuums for hands and rarely drops passes, and is very good after the catch. His target volume seems to be decently safe. The Bills rarely make moves for legitimately great receivers, instead choosing to load up their rooms with a litany of mediocre options. Shakir could remain the Bills de-facto WR1, as WR Keon Coleman struggled with separation in his first season in the league. Elijah Moore and Josh Palmer, two other receivers, were added to the team's pass-catching corps in the offseason. They're likely to just serve ancillary roles for now, though, and Moore shouldn't be a big threat to Shakir's slot snaps. Projecting Shakir's upside for 2025, it's hard to see things being much different. He struggled with an ankle injury for part of last year, so a modest uptick in his per-game stats would be reasonable, but he's at best a midrange WR3 with how much the Bills like spreading the ball around in the passing game, and Shakir's limited snaps in 2WR formations on offense.
