Athletics outfielder Brent Rooker had a monster day at the plate on Wednesday, going 4-for-5 with two home runs, one double, three runs, and three RBI. This was the first time he homered in June, snapping a 10-game home run drought that is rare for the slugger. He's now slashing .276/.342/.498 with 15 home runs, 41 RBI, and 44 runs on the season. The 30-year-old has seen a slight decline in batting average since last year, dropping from .293 to .276. This is surprising since he is striking out at a way lower rate, improving from 28.8% in 2024 to 20.8% this season. That could suggest that even better days are ahead for Rooker, who has maintained his place as one of the best power-hitters in the sport.--Jeremy Heist
