Ke'Bryan Hayes Sent To Altoona
4 years agoThe Pittsburgh Pirates optioned third base prospect Ke'Bryan Hayes to their alternate training site in Altoona on Wednesday. This doesn't come as a surprise, as Hayes missed most of summer camp after testing positive for COVID-19. The team's No. 2 prospect still has a decent shot at making his major league debut in 2020, but the 23-year-old will bide his time and get back to full strength before that happens. A first-round pick in 2015, Hayes is one of the best defensive third baseman in the minor leagues, and the Pirates are hoping he can develop more power as he matures. Hayes is a much better dynasty/keeper asset during the 60-game season, but he could make an impact in DFS and single-year formats if he gets called up and sees regular playing time.
