Ke'Bryan Hayes Aggravates Left Wrist Injury
4 years agoPittsburgh Pirates third baseman Ke'Bryan Hayes (wrist) aggravated his left wrist on Wednesday night while taking swings in Detroit. He is headed back to Pittsburgh to be re-examined on Thursday. It comes just days after a report that Hayes' return was on the horizon after he joined the team's alternate training site for games. Hayes initially injured his wrist on April 3 and was placed on the injured list. He homered in his first at-bat of the season on April 1 and slashed .431/.463/.745 with a 1.208 OPS with 10 extra-base hits and nine RBI in 17 spring training games. Fantasy managers must now wait to see how much longer the 24-year-old will be out of action. Phillip Evans has stepped up in Hayes' absence and has become one of Pittsburgh's hottest bats.
