Justin Verlander Now 8-2 On Road This Season
5 years agoHouston Astros starter Justin Verlander struck out seven batters in six innings as the Astros beat the Rangers 12-4 on Sunday. Verlander (11-4) allowed only two runs and gave up zero home runs for the first time since June 6. The right-handed hurler is having another amazing season despite an alarming amount of home runs allowed. He especially has had success pitching on the road, going 8-2 with a 3.01 ERA and a 0.82 WHIP in 12 starts away from Minute Maid Park. Verlander is a top-shelf fantasy choice and could even get better if he can improve upon the 26 home runs allowed this season through only 132 2/3 innings pitched. Verlander is in line to pitch later this week.
