Julio Rodriguez Returns To Action Against Pirates
4 months agoSeattle Mariners outfielder Julio Rodriguez (ankle) is back in action for Friday's series opener against the Pittsburgh Pirates and rookie sensation Paul Skenes at PNC Park, serving as the designated hitter and batting cleanup. Victor Robles gets another start in center field and is batting leadoff. Rodriguez missed Thursday's game after aggravating a right-ankle injury on Wednesday that recently put him on the injured list. Fantasy managers have to be happy to see the 23-year-old back in the starting lineup to kick off the weekend, but it wouldn't be a bad idea to leave him on the bench against a dominant young arm. Plus, J-Rod has gone 3-for-12 with an RBI and six strikeouts in his first three games back from the IL. After hitting 32 homers, driving in 103 and stealing 37 bags in 2023 in his second year in the big leagues, Rodriguez has been a disappointment in 2024 with 11 homers, 38 RBI and 18 steals in 103 games.
