Juan Soto 2025 Fantasy Baseball Outlook: Slugger Remains Elite Option in Queens
Juan Soto parlayed an astounding 2024 season (and postseason) with the Yankees into a gargantuan 15-year contract with their crosstown rivals. The 26-year-old walloped a career-best 41 home runs with a .288 average, .989 OPS, and a sixth straight year of more walks than strikeouts. He once again took command of the strike zone and resuscitated his fly-ball rate to 36 percent after it had fallen to 32 percent the year before. Soto also turned the ball around with prejudice, logging a 45 percent pull rate when he'd never been above 40 percent in any year before. We can't know how much of that was deliberate due to Yankee Stadium's short porch, but if he stays around 40 percent then the power output should stay healthy. According to Statcast, Yankee Stadium has the fourth-highest Park Factor for lefty-swinging home runs (119) while Citi Field is 20th (93). Late January ATC projections give the star 35 home runs, nine steals, and a .279 average with 205 R+RBI. Of course, Soto loves to break models and has a career .333/.466/.709 triple slash with 12 home runs in 35 career games at Citi Field. His spot near seventh in the RotoBaller ranks and early NFBC ADP is well deserved.
