Scottie Scheffler The Untouchable Favorite At CJ Cup
Aside from being virtually a home game this week for Scottie Scheffler, there isn't much reason for the world No. 1 golfer to tee it up, other than he's still looking to get the first win of the season off his back. Even without a victory, he has been in the mix of things, to some degree, in all eight starts. His ball-striking is as dominant as ever, as he ranks fourth in strokes gained on approach (plus-0.942) and sixth off the tee (plus-0.624). His short game has been an unusual struggle, ranking 79th in strokes gained around the green (plus-0.062). TPC Craig Ranch is one of the least intimidating courses around the green that players will see all season, and coupled with the need to make a ton of birdies, it fits Scheffler's current game better than most places he's competed at in 2025. As the betting favorite by a wide margin, the scale of success this week for the Texas native seems like a "win-or-bust" scenario that may not be worth it from an ownership perspective.
