Jose Ramirez Leaves Early On Friday With Leg Injury
Jose Ramirez (leg) left Friday's game early in the third inning against the Toronto Blue Jays with an apparent right-leg injury after he went into the first-base bag awkwardly while trying to avoid a throw from right-hander Chris Bassitt. Before departing, J-Ram went 2-for-2 with a stolen base. Gabriel Arias shifted from second base to third base, while Daniel Schneemann entered the game to play second base for Cleveland. The good news is that the 32-year-old Ramirez walked off the field under his own power, but that doesn't mean it isn't a significant injury. Fantasy managers will want to check back for more information on Ramirez's status, but don't expect him to be in the lineup for Game 2 of the series on Saturday. If J-Ram's injury requires an injured-list stint, both Arias and Schneemann would become everyday players on the infield for the Guardians.
