Jordan Westburg Returns To Lineup
1 year agoBaltimore Orioles rookie infielder Jordan Westburg (hand) is back in the starting lineup on Tuesday against the New York Yankees and right-hander Clarke Schmidt, playing third base and batting seventh in the lineup. Westburg was held out on Monday after taking a pitch to his left hand on Sunday, but X-rays turned up negative and he only ended up missing one day. The 24-year-old is the team's No. 3 prospect, per MLB Pipeline, but he's played in only six big-league games to this point and has gone 5-for-19 (.263) with no home runs, a double, three RBI and two runs scored in 22 plate appearances. He's a strong and athletic infielder with a big frame, but his all-fields power approach hasn't really manifested itself in the majors.
