New York Mets right-handed pitching prospect Jonah Tong continued to impress at Double-A on Thursday evening. In this outing against Chesapeake, Tong tossed six innings of one-run ball. He allowed just three hits and four walks. He struck out seven. Since allowing three runs in each of his first two starts, Tong has held an impressive 1.54 ERA with a 0.91 WHIP over his last 35 innings of work. During this stretch, Tong has struck out 61 batters and allowed 17 walks. Last season, the 21-year-old spent the majority of his campaign with High-A and logged 85 innings to the tune of a 3.71 ERA with a 1.32 WHIP. The former seventh-round pick is currently ranked as the No. 6-best in the system on MLB.com. If Tong continues to perform well with Double-A, he could keep the door open for a potential late-season MLB debut.--Andy Smith - RotoBallerRead More News
