Jon Gray Leaves Early Wednesday After Being Hit By Comebacker
1 year agoTexas Rangers right-hander Jon Gray (leg) was lifted from his outing early on Wednesday against the Tampa Bay Rays after taking a comebacker off his left leg in the top of the fifth inning. The good news is that Gray was able to walk off the field under his own power, and we'll find out shortly how serious the injury actually is. Before departing, the 31-year-old gave up eight hits and no runs while walking one and striking out four in 4 1/3 innings. It remains to be seen if he'll be able to make his next start in the rotation. Gray has been solid for the Rangers and fantasy managers this year. He came into Wednesday's outing with a 6-5 record, 3.45 ERA (4.59 FIP), 1.15 WHIP, 33 walks and 79 strikeouts in 99 innings over his 17 starts.
