Joey Gallo Records Two Hits, Power Remains MIA
4 years agoTexas Rangers outfielder Joey Gallo went 2-for-4 -- with both hits being singles -- during the club's 8-4 loss to the Chicago White Sox on Sunday. The 27-year-old slugger saw his batting average rise to .242 which is significantly higher than his .210 career mark through seven seasons. Known for his power, Gallo oddly has just one extra-base hit this year — a home run. He's twice hit 40 or more home runs in a season and went deep 10 times in 57 games last year. Although he hasn't been driving in as many runs, Gallo has spent a lot of time on base with 21 walks through 21 games. With the Rangers now 9-13 this season, the club (and fantasy owners) need the slugger to get hot.
