Jets Trading For Kalen Ballage
4 years agoThe New York Jets are acquiring running back Kalen Ballage from the Dolphins on Thursday for a conditional late-round pick, according to a source. The Dolphins were planning on releasing Ballage, but the Jets stepped in before the release was official. This is interesting, but it makes sense when considering that Jets head coach Adam Gase drafted Ballage in the fourth round in 2018 when he was with Miami. The 24-year-old averaged a putrid 1.8 yards per carry on 74 rushing attempts in 2019, but he did had 5.3 yards per tote under Gase in his rookie season. For now, Ballage represents depth behind Le'Veon Bell, veteran Frank Gore and rookie Lamical Perine.
