Jerome Ford Taking Steady Dose Of RB Reps
1 year agoCleveland Browns running back Jerome Ford has taken a steady dose of repetitions in the first few training camp practices at running back and has had chances to show his receiving abilities, which general manager Andrew Berry has praised. "A big reason that we drafted him in '22 was because of his ability as a receiver, and we think that he'll be able to play that role really well," Berry said. The 23-year-old Ford has a big opportunity for an increased role as the direct backup to Nick Chubb in 2023 now that both Kareem Hunt and D'Ernest Johnson are gone. Ford also has been working with the kick returners in practice and has plenty of value to the Browns this season. The second-year back will be a handcuff for those that draft Chubb a their RB1.
