3/22:New York Mets starting pitcher Jason Vargas returned to the team on Thursday, just two days after undergoing surgery for a non-displaced fracture in his non-throwing right hand. Vargas is expected to start throwing again over the weekend, but as of now there is no timeline for when he’ll be ready to make his first start of the season. Vargas has maintained all long that he shouldn’t miss time, if any, and there doesn’t seem to be anything to dispute that – it’s probably just a matter of when he’ll be able to play the field. Vargas doesn’t carry a ton of fantasy appeal anyway, but could be useful depending on the matchup.--Andrew Bua - RotoBaller
