7 years agoKansas City Royals starting pitcher Jason Hammel had a stellar game on Friday, but he was saddled with the rare nine-inning no decision after the game went to extra innings. His effort was for naught as reliever Brad Keller surrendered a walk-off home run to the Tigers in the bottom half of the 10th, but it was still one of Hammel's best outings of his career. Hammel has only thrown nine innings once before in his nine-year career, and that was six years ago. Hammel's not racking up many strikeouts, so his value in fantasy is limited, but he seems to be working pretty craftily so far this season, so he could be a mediocre back-end starter in deep leagues.
