James Paxton Back To Full Health
James Paxton (lat) is back to full strength. He threw eight bullpen sessions this winter and had his first bullpen session of spring training on Thursday. Boston turned down a two-year, $26 million club option this winter, but Paxton exercised a player option in his contract worth $4 million to stay with the team in 2023. The 34-year-old should reside in Boston's rotation if he can stay healthy, but it's tough to get too excited about him since he's thrown only 21 2/3 innings over the last three seasons due to injuries. Expect serious workload restrictions in 2023, which will cap his fantasy upside.
