Jamaal Williams To See Increased Role Early On
1 year agoWith New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara now suspended by the league for the first three games of the 2023 regular season, the Saints will turn to Jamaal Williams, who signed with the team in free agency after leading the league with 17 touchdowns in 2022 for the Detroit Lions. The Saints also have third-round rookie Kendre Miller in the backfield, so both Williams and Miller will receive a slight fantasy boost early in the year with Kamara out. At least early on with Kamara away, the 28-year-old Williams should be considered the favorite for the majority of the touches, although Miller will also chip in for the New Orleans offense. Fantasy managers shouldn't bank on Williams being a touchdown hog yet again, and his role as the primary back will be short-lived with Kamara returning in Week 4.
