Jake Odorizzi Placed On Injured List Monday
4 years agoHouston Astros starting pitcher Jake Odorizzi (arm) was placed on the 10-day injured list on Monday with a strained muscle in his right arm. Odorizzi left his start early on Saturday after just five pitches, and manager Dusty Baker announced on Monday that Odorizzi has a strained right pronator. The Astros are hoping that the right-hander will only have to miss two turns through the rotation. The 31-year-old could be back in short order if he doesn't have any setbacks, but he was 0-2 with a 10.13 ERA in three starts so far this season. Odorizzi was an All-Star in 2019 with Minnesota and pitched in just 13 2/3 innings in 2020 due to injury. He's not a must-hold in shallow mixed leagues if you have other needs.
