Jake Meyers' World Series Status In Doubt
3 years agoIt's unknown if Houston Astros outfielder Jake Meyers (shoulder) will be included on the roster for the World Series. Meyers was on the roster for the American League Championship Series against the Boston Red Sox despite suffering a left shoulder injury while crashing into the wall in the Division Series against the Chicago White Sox. The Astros thought Meyers could recover and play in the ALCS, but he suffered a setback with his shoulder. Houston was unable to replace Meyers on the ALCS roster, but he was available to pinch hit and pinch run later in the series. With Meyers unavailable on defense, Chas McCormick started four games and Jose Siri started twice in center field against Boston.
