Jaguars Expected To Franchise Tag Evan Engram
2 years agoThe Jacksonville Jaguars are expected to place the franchise tag on impending free-agent tight end Evan Engram, according to a source. The franchise tag for tight ends in 2023 is $11.345 million. After five disappointing seasons with the New York Giants after being a first-round pick in 2017, Engram signed a one-year deal with the Jaguars and had the best season of his career, setting career-highs in catches (73) and receiving yards (766) while finding the end zone four times in 17 regular season games. Jacksonville will have until mid-July to work out a long-term contract extension for the 28-year-old if they want him around beyond the 2023 season. Now that he's locked in with the Jags for next season, Engram will retain TE1 value for fantasy managers.
