Jacob deGrom Likely To Be On Pitch Count Early On
2 years agoTexas Rangers manager Bruce Bochy said that starting pitcher Jacob deGrom (side) is likely to be on a pitch count to start the 2023 regular season. Nathan Eovaldi, who is also working his way through left side tightness in spring training, will probably be limited to around 75-80 pitches to begin the year as well. It puts a damper on their fantasy upside to begin the season, but both right-handers appear to be coming along well after initially reporting their injuries in camp. deGrom recently threw two innings in a minor-league game, and the good news is that the 34-year-old won't have to start the year on the injured list. deGrom is a risk/reward fantasy ace that has seen his fair share of injuries with the New York Mets in recent years.
