J.D. Martinez Goes On Injured List With Groin Injury
1 year agoThe Los Angeles Dodgers placed designated hitter J.D. Martinez (groin) on the 10-day injured list on Tuesday with left-groin tightness. Martinez has been hobbled for much of the second half of the season, so the Dodgers will finally give him some extended rest so that he can get right for what they hope will be a deep postseason run. The 36-year-old has had a fine season in his first LA, hitting .256/.309/.547 with an .856 OPS, 25 home runs, 78 RBI and 49 runs scored in 351 at-bats, and he deserves to be stashed in all fantasy formats until he's back. Infield prospect Michael Busch has been recalled from the minors to replace Martinez and could see some decent playing time in a stacked Dodgers lineup until Martinez is able to return.
