Vegas Golden Knights forward Ivan Barbashev has signed a five-year extension with the team just a few days before being eligible to hit unrestricted free agency. The deal will be worth $5 million annually. Getting a signature from Barbashev was one of the priorities for the Golden Knights this summer after the 27-year-old played a big role in the team's Stanley Cup triumph. The Russian forward tallied seven goals and 18 points in 22 games during the championship run. After coming over from St. Louis in February, Barbashev found himself a comfortable spot in Vegas next to Jack Eichel on the top line and went on to grab 16 points in 23 regular-season appearances. He now looks set to be a vital part of the Golden Knights' top six for the foreseeable future.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
