6 years agoNew York Yankees general manager Brian Cashman said that first baseman Greg Bird (foot) will be in a walking boot for two weeks before the team re-evaluates him. Bird was hitting just .171 (6-for-35) with a solo home run on the season and continues to be a disappointment for fantasy owners due to injuries and poor performance. He should only be stashed in AL-only leagues and is likely to be looking at an extended absence. Luke Voit will benefit from everyday playing time at first base in the meantime, with Mike Ford occasionally mixing in.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
