The Philadelphia Flyers are taking calls from teams gauging interest in the availability of center Scott Laughton. The Flyers are reportedly not eager to trade him but with a thin center-ice crop available (and top center Elias Lindholm traded to the Canucks), the club could seemingly get a nice return for the two-way pivot. The 29-year-old recorded a career-high 18 goals and 43 points last season and has five goals and 20 points on 109 shots across 50 games this season. A gritty player and a valuable penalty killer, Laughton also has 73 hits and 44 penalty minutes on his ledger this season. The Flyers were one of the most surprising teams in the league for much of the season's first half but dropped their final five games before the All-Star break and have slipped onto the playoff bubble in the Eastern Conference.--Brenton Kemp
