4 years agoThe belief is that San Diego Padres first baseman Eric Hosmer will be activated from the league's COVID-19 list on Wednesday. Hosmer went on the COVID-19 list last Wednesday as a close contact. The 31-year-old left-handed hitter was slashing a solid .305/.370/.443 with four home runs, six doubles, 21 RBI and even three stolen bases in 146 plate appearances of 35 games before being sidelined last week. While Hosmer doesn't possess a lot of over-the-fence pop, he's more valuable in mixed leagues now that San Diego's lineup is more potent. With Hosmer returning to the fold soon and with Jurickson Profar coming back on Monday night, Tucupita Marcano, who had been playing the keystone, is likely to lose playing time or be sent back to the minors.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
