Eduardo Escobar Trade Isn't Imminent
3 years agoThe Chicago White Sox were close to acquiring Arizona Diamondbacks infielder Eduardo Escobar a couple of times over the last few weeks, but more teams getting involved contributed to the delay. While it seemed like an Escobar trade was imminent last weekend, it might still take a while for something to get done. Chicago wants a replacement for Nick Madrigal (hamstring) at second base, and they could be even more desperate if third baseman Yoan Moncada (hand) needs a trip to the injured list. Escobar, 32, is hitting .243/.291/.461 and has been relevant in mixed leagues because of his 17 home runs, 39 runs scored and 53 RBI in 304 at-bats for Arizona. If he's dealt to a contender, which seems likely, his fantasy value will only increase.
