Drew Lock 2024 Fantasy Football Outlook: Enters Season As Backup Awaiting Chance
6 months agoNew York Giants quarterback Drew Lock enters his sixth NFL season as the backup to Daniel Jones, who is recovering from a torn ACL suffered in Week 8 of last season. While Jones had an awful season before the injury, much of the blame can be tied to poor offensive line play and a tough opening schedule. As such, Lock has asserted he's been brought in to be Jones' backup and not to compete for a starting job. However, if Jones shows anything like the poor 2:6 TD:INT from six games last year then Lock should get a crack. But Lock, who has a career 59.7% completion rate and nearly as many TDs as INTs over the last four years (21:20), has limited appeal. He does boast plus arm strength and deep accuracy, which could shine if Malik Nabers, Darius Slayton, and Jalin Hyatt embrace their field-stretching abilities. But as the QB40 in both RotoBaller's rankings and early ADP, Lock can be left on the wire to start the season.
