Dontayvion Wicks Dealing With Calf Injury
Dontayvion Wicks (calf) is dealing with a calf injury that he suffered in Monday's training camp practice, according to Matt Schneidman of The Athletic. It's unclear when Wicks will be able to return to practice, but he needs as many reps as possible as he fights for a depth role in what has become a crowded Packers receiving room, even with the injury to Christian Watson (knee). Jayden Reed and Romeo Doubs will likely be starters, while the Packers also drafted Matthew Golden in the first round back in April. So even if healthy, the 24-year-old Wicks could be fighting an uphill battle for a regular role in 2025. Wicks will need to clean up his issues with drops as well. The former fifth-rounder has plenty of separation skills but managed to catch only 39 of 76 targets for 415 yards and five touchdowns in 17 regular-season games (five starts) in his second year in 2024.
