Domantas Sabonis Wants All-Around Improvement From Kings
1 year agoSacramento Kings forward/center Domantas Sabonis helped the team end a 16-year playoff drought in 2022-23, but he expects things to be more challenging in the upcoming campaign and wants to see improvement from the squad at both ends of the floor. "We definitely know it's going to be the hardest year yet. Last year, there was no expectations," Sabonis told Kyle Irving of Sporting News. "We were a top-three seed. People are going to come at us. It's not going to be easy. ... We gotta be mentally strong to come out, block out all the noise and just be us. Getting better on defense, adding things on our offensive end so teams can't scout us. It's gonna be a lot of fun for us." Sabonis enters his eighth NBA campaign, having set a high bar for himself by averaging 19.1 points, 12.3 rebounds, and a career-high 7.3 assists with 61.5 percent shooting in 2022-23.
