Dolphins To Pick Up Tua Tagovailoa's Fifth-Year Option
2 years agoThe Miami Dolphins have informed quarterback Tua Tagovailoa that they are picking up his fifth-year option, according to sources. Once it's officially exercised, he will be guaranteed $23.2 million for the 2024 season. It's another indication that the team is confident that Tagovailoa will be their franchise signal-caller for a long time. Miami has said all along this offseason that they are committed to the 25-year-old, despite two documented concussions that limited him to 13 games in 2022. The former fifth overall pick in 2020 did have his best season last year before injuries struck, and the Dolphins are confident he'll continue to grow under head coach Mike McDaniel. Injuries will continue to make Tagovailoa risky in fantasy football, but when he's healthy, he has QB1 upside.
