Devonta Freeman To Have Groin Surgery
Devonta Freeman (groin) will undergo surgery on his groin in Philadelphia on Thursday, according to a source. Freeman was placed on Injured Reserve on Tuesday and will be out for at least the next eight weeks. It means he's unlikely to contribute much to close out the year if he even returns. He'll go down as a big early-round bust for fantasy owners. Tevin Coleman and rookie Ito Smith will continue to split the backfield with Freeman sidelined. Coleman will remain an RB2, while Smith will be more of a touchdown-dependent RB3/flex.
